Course Description:

The Aerospace Medical Program is design for those who will be working in any aerospace environment or working as aero medical personnel.  The program will touch on topics that are encountered by military and civilian aircrew personnel.

This program is designed in divisions so that the Aerospace Medicine Program can be complete in as little as six months.  The program is theory based and entirely self paced.

Each area covered is to provide the air medical provider with relevant information with regards to aerodynamics, aerospace technology, aerospace systems old and new, the effect the aerospace environment on the crew as well as aerospace medicine.  Each topic is a vast area we encourage students to seek out further information on any given subject of interest.

This a program learning system and is not intended to fail any student.

This program is set up in 8 division each with 7-12 completion points. When the division is completed a test is administered.

Once a student has completed the required reading and completed the open book program learning exam.  The student will send the exam via postal service or email for verification and correction at which point the next section will be mailed out via postal or email.

Continued education credit is given per completion points and division. Credit hours could range for 16 hrs to 48 hrs per division.

FLIGHT SURGEON --- Coming Soon

This course is designed for person (MD, PA, NP, RN, PM) who are interested in managing aero-medical personnel.

Senior operational personnel are appropriately concerned with mission accomplishment. Aviators themselves are not always in a good position to evaluate operational fatigue. Pressures from superiors, peers and self-image, all combine to all combine with the attitude to "press on" with the last ounce of reserve energy rather than to ground ones self because of excessive fatigue.

The flight surgeon is in a unique position to deal with the multifaceted problems of operational fatigue, principally because his orientation is directed more toward the safety aspects than the operational aspects of the mission.

This course will be by request and application only after September 2007.

There is an application process, prerequisites are as follows: valid CPR, ACLS, NRP, PALS, ATLS/PHTLS card and copy's must be sent along with verification letter that you are working or will be working in medicine. This along with your application will then be reviewed, before acceptance.

Each course has theory and lab sessions.  A candidate may take similar courses in their region or country.  A person may not be required to take portions of the program and still receive a successful completion of the program. Candidate must submit course curriculum dated less than 1yr, roster and letter of completion.
